Network Builder is an application for entering and editing data about parameters of the network, its connectivity and graphic presentation. Main characteristics of the new generation of Network Builder are multi-user environment with user-friendly designed interface. It's made according to standard object and visually oriented design principles.
Network Builder consists of the following segments:
Using specially designed data model interfaces, it is possible to link with a various RDBMS (Oracle, SyBase, Microsoft SQL server), as well as with data in different non-DBMS formats (e.g. XML). Multilingual user interface is provided for users, activated automatically depending on settings of operating system.
Element Editor
Element Editor provides:
- Creation of a new network,
- Editing and changing catalogs network elements,
- Editing and changing basic network elements,
- Adding or removing elements.
Main features:
- Fully graphical user-friendly interface
- A rich customizable library of elements
- Representation of data in textual form and form of graphs where applicable
- Multiple Undo/Redo feature
Editor of bay library provides creation of any bay type. Bays are formed by drag&drop of bay elements (switches, fuses, fault detectors,...) and their connection via "hotpoints".
Symbol editor provides customization of graphic symbols used accross the system to suit customer's requirements and standards.
Substation Editor Substation Editor is used for editing structure of substations and other compound elements (joints).
Substation Editor provides rich palette of visual tools and standard windows actions, such as mouse-move, drag and drop, popup menus. Constructing of each object is made with full control over element manipulation, based on constraints set by power network.
Editing actions:
- Add, remove, change and connect elements
- Element size, orientation and position manipulation, with the use of graphic tools (align, mirror, snap to grid, ...),
- Select and copy-paste action,
- Multilevel Undo/Redo
- Dynamic zoom and pan.
Schemes Editor
Network Scheme Editor is used for visualization of network data entered through Element Editor and Substation Editor. In the Network Scheme Editor, user creates and edits schematic views of the network.
Main features of the Scheme Editor are:
- User-friendly interface and simplicity of use
- Carefully chosen set of commands similar to popular vector graphic editors, but also with specialization for editing of the network scheme
- Fast dynamic zooming and panning
- Pilot window for easier navigation
- Group select/move/rotate/mirror
- Multi-level undo/redo
- Support for multiple layers
- Import/export of popular vector graphic formats (AutoCAD - dxf and dwg, Windows metafile - wmf, Portable Network Graphics - png)
